African Youths Initiative on Crime Prevention (AYICRIP)

ABOUT
AYICRIP is a nonprofit/non-governmental youth based organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2011 and the National Planning Commission with special focus on crime prevention and youth development.

We are committed to the fight against crime through preventive approach and since inception we have successfully organized programmes which cuts across, Drug and Substance Abuse/Trafficking, Youth Migration, Abortion, Cyber-crime, Sexual harassment, Prostitution, Examination malpractice, Campus Cultism, Environmental Crime, Stereotype, Democracy/ Electoral education, Terrorism, Rape, Kidnapping, Gender equality, Anti-Corruption, Youth Development, Climate change Peace building, Conflict Resolution, Community Policing, Leadership and Good Governance.

AYICRIP has been making great impact through her crime prevention programmes in repositioning the mindset of young people in Nigeria and other parts of Africa for the purpose of developing the youths and reducing crime rate in our communities and society at large.

We have reach out to 15000 young people between the ages of 10 to 35 through our conferences, summits, symposiums and training workshops with experts facilitating sessions by way of paper presentation, group discussions and interactive sessions through questions and answer. We have also adopted outdoor activities as means of engaging youths thereby diverting their energies against crime.

Internship Tasks:
For the period of the internship in AYICRIP, the selected interns are expected to carry out the following roles and responsibilities.
1. GRANT AND PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR
2. STRATEGIC PLANNING COORDINATOR
3. SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

GRANT AND PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR
For this role he/she is providing direct support to strategic growth opportunities as well as helping to strengthen Business Development, processes, including partnership development and management.
● Research, analyze and plan for new funding opportunities, and lead resource mobilization efforts to meet annual funding targets.
● Assist or lead proposal development. Identify and request support for additional proposal development capacity, if require
● Prepare high quality donor proposals and other grant documentation
● Be ready to take on a role as Lead Writer for concept notes and proposals
● Manage the review, approval, and submission process
● Develop and maintain grants management tools, such as funding trackers, reporting calendars, templates, and compliance guideline documents; and ensure the team is aware of these timeline
● Coordinate the production of donor reports and ensure that reports are of high quality and submitted on time.
● Initiate new partnerships and develop new strategies for engaging old partners
● In all, foster a culture of business development in AYICRIP

STRATEGIC PLANNING COORDINATOR – AYICRIP-NELIS FOOTBALL ACADEMY
Strategic Planning Coordinator will ensure that the Academy meet strategic planning-related timelines and deliverables effectively and efficiently. Determines determine the projects’ benchmarks and tracks, monitors, and measures progress and outcomes. He/ She will initiate ideas and strategies relevant in promoting the vision of the Academy.
● Ensures the timely submission of deliverables as mapped out for the FA project
● Develops and oversees measures for increasing response to the crowdfunding site of the project. 
● Monitors project and assesses outcomes, reports on progress to leadership.
● Identifies potential project risks and difficulties and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid risks. Escalates issues as appropriate
● Researches, solicits, retains, and coordinates new investment opportunities and other external resources

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
● Develop social media strategy to align with AYICRIP goals
● Set specific objectives and report on ROI
● Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily (e.g., original text, photos, videos and news.
● Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics
● Collaborate with other teams to ensure consistency
● Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
● Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g., Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
● Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
● Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications

Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree (completed/ongoing)
● Fluency in spoken and written English
● Strong interpersonal and English communicative skills
● Proficiency in MS software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power point)
