Who We Are
Founded on May 30th, 2019, Simply Neuroscience is an international, student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering students’ interdisciplinary interests in the brain, specifically through neuroscience and psychology education, outreach, and awareness. Our aim is to empower youth to engage in brain-related fields through projects and initiatives on local through global scales. Overall, we work to increase early neuroscience accessibility through connecting students with free online resources, opportunities, events, mentorship, and more through our diverse array of 25 departmental initiatives.
What We Do
From creating free study resources to building supportive mentorship communities, we help students pursue their “brain” journey through a variety of avenues.
Outreach and Research Sub-Projects
● Accessible Axon Initiative (AAI)
The Accessible Axon Initiative was founded in 2021, with the goal of making Simply Neuroscience’s resources more accessible to neurodiverse communities. This includes captioning YouTube videos and podcasts, narrating the website, and more.
● Presynaptic Project (PSP)
The Presynaptic Project is a global, student-led initiative devoted to introducing interdisciplinary neuroscience into early education through creating lesson plans and hosting workshops.
● Research Resource Creation (RRC)
RRC aims to empower students by offering them guidance in the form of a guide to pursue research. We are also working on compiling an Opportunities Database that aims to provide a comprehensive list of opportunities for high school students to get involved in neuroscience/STEM through events, research, and immersive programs organized by geographic region.
● Humans of Neuroscience (HoN)
Humans of Neuroscience is an initiative dedicated to sharing the stories of the humans in neuroscience and psychology, of all ages and educational backgrounds, to showcase the amazing diversity in the brain community.
