International Association for Counselling (IAC)

The International Association for Counselling (IAC) is an International Non-Governmental Association (NGO) with United Nations consultative status (ECOSOC, WHO, UNESCO, and ILO). Since 1966, we have worked to advance the development of counselling through practice, education, research, and advocacy initiatives. IAC advances the development of counselling in order to improve people’s lives and well-being.

Mission
To serve as an international leader and catalyst for counsellors and counselling associations by advancing culturally relevant counselling practice, research and policy to promote well-being, respect, social justice and peace worldwide.

Internship Tasks:

Membership / Marketing / Communications: 
● Promote IAC membership offerings
● Working with others to improve IAC webpages and social media 
● Promoting our online courses and resources
● Assisting with our webinars and events

Volunteer Coordination:
● Monitoring incoming applications/ emails
● Promoting volunteer roles
● Helping develop a volunteer productivity management system. 

World Mapping Project
● Entering the collected mapping information onto the mapping website in the desired format/order
● Making suggestions on expansion of the project
● Researching countries further where needed

Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree (completed/ongoing)
● Related background or experience
● Fluency in spoken and written English
● Strong interpersonal and English communicative skills
● Proficiency in MS software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
