Surfrider Foundation Europe

Created in 1990 by a group of surfers wishing to defend their playground, Surfrider Europe has in its DNA the mobilization of citizens in favor of the protection of the ocean and the coast.
Surfrider Foundation Europe is a non-profit association, responsible for the protection and enhancement of lakes, rivers, ocean, waves and coastline. To date, it has more than  13,000 members and operates in 11 countries through its volunteer branches.
Surfrider Foundation Europe works in 3 specific areas in which the organization has acquired recognized expertise for almost 30 years: aquatic waste, water quality and health of uses, coastal development and climate change.

Our missions
For more than 25 years, Surfrider Foundation Europe has been protecting, safeguarding and enhancing the oceans and all the people who benefit from them. It acts on a daily basis to fight against damage to the coastal environment and its users.
Internship Tasks:(Internships in 3 different fields)

1. Internship Assistant to Foundation Partnerships (Europe Zone)
Surfrider Foundation Europe is a non-profit association (law 1901), having “for goal the defense, the safeguard, the development and the sustainable management of the ocean, the coast, the waves and the population who benefit from them. “. Created in 1990 in Europe (Biarritz), it now brings together a network of 1,800 volunteers, 15,000 members, 47 local branches, and more than 150,000 supporters in Europe.
Your main mission will be to ensure the tasks related to the research and management of foundations.

Framework and objectives of the internship:
The fundraising and development department is responsible, at the head office of Surfrider Foundation Europe, for defining and implementing the fundraising strategy from individuals, companies, foundations and public institutions (France, Europe).
Placed under the responsibility of the Foundation Partnerships Officer, the intern will aim to contribute to the development of private funding in conjunction with the project managers (environment, education, lobby and volunteer mobilization) of the ‘association.
He (She) will thus be able to develop his / her skills in the management of private partnerships and in strategic fundraising analysis for NGOs.

Main missions :
Assistance in the management and loyalty of partners:
● Support in the management of partners’ files (grant file and letters of intent, monitoring of agreements, partner reports, etc.)
● Participation in the development of partner assessment schedules
● Direct support for the follow-up of partnership files according to motivation and profile
● Participation in partner events and meetings

Prospecting assistance:
● Search for foundation funding opportunities and sources (watch, search for partnerships in France but also in Europe)
● Participation in the development of partnership proposals: assistance in writing and proofreading funding requests within the framework and outside of calls for projects
● Appointment setting, reminders, follow-up

2. SCV-SOCIOCULTURAL ANIMATION AND MOBILIZATION AQUITAINE BORDEAUX CAMPUS
DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
● Surfrider is now recruiting Eco-volunteers aged 18 to 25 (SCV) and up to 30 years old if disabled.
● Citizen mobilization, environmental protection and also education and awareness of sustainable development are all missions that civic service volunteers will have to carry out.

 THE SURFRIDER EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
● Surfrider aims to raise awareness of environmental issues affecting users of the sea and coastline in order to limit the impact of citizens on this environment.
● The association wishes to transmit its eco-citizen values in favor of the protection of aquatic environments during these awareness actions to a varied public.
● Surfrider Foundation Europe is part of a global network of regional associations and local representations present on all continents (USA, Europe, Japan, Australia, Latin America, etc.)

CIVIC SERVICE MISSION
As part of the Campus program, a vast European program of environmental awareness and citizen mobilization through the organization of operations for the collection of aquatic waste in the environment by volunteers, the association Surfrider Foundation Europe is looking for a ( e) civic service to assist in the organization and animation of its Aquitaine Campus.
Within the Education pole, under the responsibility of the Education Officer of the Bordeaux office, the person in civic service will have to carry out several missions:
● Participate in the animation and mobilization of the Surfrider network within the framework of the Campus;
● Raise public awareness of coastal environmental issues as part of Campus programs;
● Participate in the animation of events linked to the Campus;
● Conduct animation and awareness sessions in schools and in the field as part of Green Courant Tickets (BCV), and Sustainable Development Days.
● Contribute to the development of activities and related tools.
● Participate in the life of the association and field work (participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, sporting events, participation in environmental and educational actions).

CANDIDATE PROFILE
● A particular sensitivity to pedagogy, communication, environmental issues and sustainable development would be appreciated.
● It is a Civic Service, so our selection criteria are the ability to work in a team, motivation and a sense of commitment.

3. E- Commerce Marketing Assistant Internship
MISSIONS 
Within the company SFE PROD, an entity owned by Surfrider Foundation Europe, and supervised by our digital marketing manager, you will participate in the management of the online store, customer follow-up and digital marketing actions. 
 During your mission, you will be required to: 
● Manage the content of the e-commerce site: product sheets in French and English, photos, product settings, etc.
● Take care of the after-sales service: questions, customer returns, refunds, etc.
● Ensure the link with our logistics platform and manage the stock
● Liaise with the communication department for the planning of communication actions, animation of social networks and organization of photo shoots
● Plan and write email campaigns
● Perform monthly sales and data reporting of traffic and defined webmarketing KPIs
● Optimizing the natural referencing of the site
● Welcoming customers

 REQUIRED PROFILE
● Higher education (BAC + 4/5) marketing / communication / e-commerce
● Excellent level of French and English, written and spoken
● Office Suite or equivalent,
● Google Analytics,
● Knowledge of Marketing emailings
● Knowledge of an e-commerce CMS
● Knowledge of photo editing software / site (Photoshop or other)
