World Fair Trade Latin America

The World Fair Trade Organization in Latin America (WFTO-LA) has 67 members in 12 countries, which have the principles of Fair Trade at the center of their mission and at the center of their activity.

 The World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) represents the fair-trade chain from production to sale, including producer cooperatives and associations, export marketing companies, importers, retailers, fair trade networks and support organizations.

Our members are social enterprises that practice Fair Trade and are monitored under the WFTO Guarantee System.

WFTO-LA is governed by an elected Regional Board of seven members and maintains an office in Areguá (Paraguay) to coordinate its activities.

VISION
To be recognized in the region as the valid interlocutor of the organizations that promote fair trade and as a promoter of market access, based on the technical and business capacities of its members, as well as on the valuation of cultural heritage.

MISSION
Strengthen the advocacy, marketing, monitoring and accompaniment capacities of WFTO-LA members and promote cooperative relationships between them and with other social actors, in order to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of small producers in Latin America, attending to the principles of Fair Trade.
Internship Tasks:
Support with general activities, such as document sorting, data collection, translation, basic website maintenance, social media, project management, communication and event help, etc. 
The specific content of the internship depends on the needs at that time.

Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree (completed/ongoing)
● Fluency in spoken and written English
● Strong interpersonal and English communicative skills
● Proficiency in MS software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power point)
