SEAMEO Regional Centre for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Educational Personnel in Language

SEAMEO Regional Centre for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnel (QITEP) in Language (SEAQIL) is a Centre created by the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education established in 13 July 2009.
We focus on developing the quality of language teachers and education personnel of Arabic, Chinese, German, Indonesian as a Foreign Language (ILFL) and Japanese. To execute it optimally, we commit to always develop the quality of the training, seminars, workshops and all our services.
To articulate the mission to provide quality programme, we continuously innovate to meet the insistent demands from the customers for continuous professional development.
Furthermore, we endeavour to maintain and strengthen extensive networks with other Centres, schools, resource persons, and all related institution or persons. By doing so, we continue collaborating on the improvement of education in Southeast Asian region.

Mission
To provide quality multi-lingual and multi-literacy programmes of professional excellence for language teachers and education personnel through innovative ways of resource sharing, research and development and networking.

To improve the quality of language teachers and education personnel through capacity building, resource sharing, as well as research and development.
To maintain and strengthen extensive networks among SEAMEO countries focused on multilingual and multi-literacy education.
Internship Tasks
Interns will act as teachers of the Virtual Chinese Mandarin Club:
● Teach Indonesian Chinese learners the basics of Chinese language and Chinese culture
● Prepare lesson plans and study materials
● Help improve the participants’ speaking skills and assess their speaking skills
● Schedule different class activities
● Take screenshots for activities’ documentation
● Fill in the lesson log and attendance list of participants
● Give input, suggestions and/or ideas for their learning

Other work may include:
● Translate some modules from English to Mandarin/Chinese 
● Create creative contents for Mandarin/Chinese language learning for websites and social medias

Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree (completed/ongoing).Must have a background in Education or Language study
● Fluency in spoken and written English
● Strong interpersonal and English communicative skills
● Proficiency in MS software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power point)
