The “International University of Kyrgyzstan” Academic Consortium (IUK AC) is a higher educational institution with an international status acting as an intellectual center of Kyrgyzstan, generating new knowledge, implementing new technologies, training professionals who can confidently make decisions in the context of a rapidly changing world and global challenges facing the Central Asian region.
The history of development
Stage 1:
On March 11, 1993, by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic No. UP-74, the International University of Kyrgyzstan was established with the status of an international higher educational institution.
The founders of the university were the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, whereas assistance in establishment of the university was provided by the State University of San Francisco (USA).
By the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 30, 1998 and the Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic dated February 8, 1999 No. 74, the International University of Kyrgyzstan was granted the status of an autonomous self-governing university.
Stage 2:
On February 12, 2003, by the Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 53, the university was converted into the “International University of Kyrgyzstan” academic consortium for Training, Research and Practice.
Stage 3:
In 2017, the university was transformed into the Academic Consortium of “International University of Kyrgyzstan”, a corporate group, which includes a number of educational, research and practice institutions of various levels.
At present, the university has created an organizational structure, which is based on the Euro-American structure of universities, that suggests the autonomy of structural divisions and is aimed at vigorous activities in education and science.
The current model of the “International University of Kyrgyzstan” is a holding structure that meets modern challenges as much as possible, in which educational, research and practice profiled institutions strengthen each other’s potential and work together to continuously improve quality.
As an international higher educational institution (HEI), the IUK academic consortium is active internationally, introducing innovative methods of education and science-based research, developing trends in the globalization of education, expanding cooperation with universities and organizations of various countries.
